China’s Posts Trade Surplus of $20 Billion in August
A surprisingly large surge in imports reduced China’s trade surplus in August, government data showed on Friday, but at just above $20 billion the surplus was still high enough to remain as a bone of contention in relations with the United States, which has argued that China has an unfair trade advantage because of a weak renminbi.
